ABOUT WATERDRIVE AND REPAIR AT THE MARSHAL’S OFFICE OF THE ŁÓDZKIE VOIVODESHIP
On November 14, 2019, at the headquarters of the Marshal’s Office of thOn November 14, 2019, at the seat of the Marshal’s Office of the Lodz Region, a meeting of the Lodz Region Authorities took place as part of the REPAIR and WATERDRIVE projects, as well as with stakeholders in projects such as AQUARES, GPP4Growth, LCA4Regions, SCREEN or Łódzkie GREEN HUB.
The meeting aimed to integrate and exchange experiences within the projects, and to get acquainted with the results and planned activities related to the projects.
We had the opportunity to familiarize the participants of the meeting with the main goals of the REPAIR and WATERDRIVE project, which are primarily the improvement of waste and resource management and increasing the potential of local authorities, local communities, and public agricultural advisory services in managing water resources in agricultural areas, to achieve sustainable development in the field of natural resource management.
As part of the meeting, it was decided to take important initiatives to bring the region closer to achieving its goals in the field of sustainable development. Possibilities of implementing the circular economy have been noticed not only in the areas listed so far, but we are talking about the modernization of technical facilities, greater involvement in circular textiles, or additional use of biomass elements destroyed so far.
The role of educating society and raising its awareness in the field of waste management, exhaust emissions, energy, and renewable resources was also emphasized.
